Join us in downtown Tulsa at Guthrie Green for the movie Interstellar and a night with some telescopes setup and members of the Astronomy Club of Tulsa available to answer some general questions about the night sky and telescopes. If you are not familiar with Guthrie Green it is an open space park with a stage for public events in the downtown Tulsa area, located at 111 E. Reconcilliation Way, across the street from the News on 6 studios. A google maps link can be found here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/zp3JkXKB2Gc978XV7
When approaching a telescope please ask the telescope owner of the telescope if it is OK to take a look through it as it may not be ready to use or not on a night sky object at the moment. Also, don't touch the scope or allow children to be un-supervised in the area of the telescopes. They can easily be bumped off target and require some time to re-align before use again. Additionally, these are very expensive optical instruments that can be damaged if abused.
