Members Only Observing Night

We try reserve Observatory nights nearest the New Moon to our CURRENT MEMBERS ONLY. This allows our members to work on their various observing projects, share ideas and help each other with their goals. The gates will open at 6:00 PM. NOTE: The sun sets at 6:06 so drive carefully if arriving after dark.. If Friday's session is cancelled due to weather, we may try to be open on Saturday if weather conditions improve.   Check website for updates.

 

PLEASE NOTE: If nighttime temperature is extremely cold, we may cancel or close earlier.  
 Dress warmly - Coat, Gloves, Hat - our rural site is colder than town.

Venus shines brightly in the SW,. Jupiter can still be observed for a couple of hours after sunset. Mars is high in the south in Taurus, But the real attraction are the bright stars of Orion, Taurus, Gemini and the rest of the winter circle of stars.

As a member you can bring family members or a friend that wants to observe with you but no large groups. Please keep minor family members within your observing area with a supervising adult.
