Guest And Members Night - Please RSVP

You are invited to join us Saturday December 17th for our Members and Guests observing night at our observatory. Weather permitting, we will have several telescopes set up for you to enjoy views of the early winter sky. Join us for a "Planet Parade" All the visible planets will be visible in the evening sky. Venus and Mercury hug the western horizon just after sunset. The planets Saturn and Jupiter will both be well placed for viewing. Mars is rising in the east. Check the website before you head out for updates.


Our observing ground gates will open at 4:30 PM. Guests are asked to park on the lot at the large building next to our observing field. Due to our rural location, it is recommended you wear socks and closed toe shoes. Coat, hat and gloves are recommended! It gets colder on our rural hill top.  Please arrive no later than 6:00 PM.   We will start closing up about 9:00 PM

PLEASE NOTE: If nighttime temperature is excessively cold we may cancel or shorten the observing time.

We are asking you to RSVP ( preferably by Friday evening if possible ) by using our CONTACT option on the TOP of our website bar. This will help us be better prepared to help you. Small family or friends’ groups are welcome, but we cannot accommodate large groups at this time. Children MUST be supervised. Quiet activities for restless kids are beneficial.

A DONATIONS box is available to help us with the expenses of the observatory.
Suggested Donation is $ 5 per adult, $ 2 Kids under 6 Free. – Cash is best way.

Covid & Flu are still of some concern - So we are asking you choose a future date if you or your family are ill. When approaching a telescope ask the owner if they are willing to share the views.
