AWLAYS! check our website, social media, and email (if you registered) for possible weather cancellations. If we cancel we post notices of cancellations several hours before the event start time on social media and our website, and email back anyone who registered.

You are invited to join us on Saturday Night at our OBSERVATORY located in rural skies SW of Tulsa (See direction details below). Weather permitting, we will have several telescopes set up for you to enjoy the stars, galaxies, and other treasures of the night sky. Some of our members will have telescopes set up outside for viewing. You will also have an opportunity to visit the telescope in our observatory dome. When approaching a telescope ask the owner if they are willing to share the views.

Our Guest nights are OPEN to the PUBLIC. Our Astronomy club is an all volunteer 501c3 non-profit organization, our guests are encouraged to consider a donation to help us with the ongoing expenses so that we can continue to offer opportunities to come and enjoy the starry night sky.

Please refer to the driving directions at the end of this event posting, parking is available at the paved lot next to the large building to our east. 

Come enjoy a night under the stars in our darker rural skies, sunset is about 7:05 PM.  You may want to bring a snack and something to drink (non-alcoholic beverages). This is also a non-smoking, tobacco free location. Please keep children with your group, younger children may enjoy a quiet activity of their own. Please, NO PETS! 

Our Astronomy club is an all volunteer non-profit organization, our guests are encouraged to consider a donation to help us with the ongoing expenses so that we can continue to offer opportunities to come and enjoy the starry night sky.

The late summer constellations of of Scorpius and Ophiucus are sinking low in the SW with Sagittarius the "Tea Cup" following behind. Cygnus the swan will be flying high overhead continuing it trek towards the west, with some beautiful deep sky targets available for viewing and astrophotography. The Andromeda Galaxy (M31) should be high enough above the glare of the Tulsa lights to be seen in most telescopes, and even binoculars. Hercules will be dropping further to the west  with the Hercules Cluster (M13) easily visible. Saturn will continue rising higher and higher in the east as the the fall season progresses. Our telescopes will be able to show you some great views of the star clusters, galaxies, and nebula that are not visible to the naked eye. The Milky Way Galaxy is another great summer target that will still be visible, and only requires your naked eyes and dark skies to see. Most modern cellphones with the proper settings can grab a snapshot if you like. 

Our observing ground gates will open at 6:30 PM. Guests are asked to park on the lot at the large building next to our observing field. Please try to arrive before 7:15pm, and drive carefully if driving after dark. Please read and follow the STAR PARTY ETIQUETTE while at the event.

Please give us the FIRST & LAST NAME of the primary person, an EMAIL and contact PHONE number. - Number of - ___ Adults / ___ Children  NOTE: If you send a RSVP late you may not get a timely reply but you will be added to our guest list. You do not have to wait for a reply to attend. Small family or friends’ groups are welcome, but we cannot accommodate large groups at this time. 

A DONATIONS box is available to help us with the expenses of the observatory. Suggested Donation is $ 5 per adult, $ 2 Kids age 6 and up, under 6 Free. – Cash is best way but you also can use the DONATE MENU at the top of our webpage if you prefer.
