Case Center Public Astronomy Night - Saturday February 21st - 5:30 PM
Come join us for an evening of viewing the moon and stars in our telescopes. The Astronomy Club of Tulsa will have several telescopes set up on the spacious lawn next to the Case Community Center 1050 W Wekiwa Rd, Sand Springs, OK 74063
This event is FREE and OPEN to the PUBLIC. Donations are welcomed to help us continue "Bringing the Stars to Eyes of Tulsa since 1937"The event will run from 5:30 PM to about 10:00 PM. This is a come and go family friendly event. There is plenty of parking at the community center. You may even like to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the sunset.
Before sunset time you can view the sun in solar telescopes and the Waxing Crescent Moon in the SW. The bright stars of the winter constellations are well placed at this time of the year for easy viewing. We will be able to see Jupiter high in the sky and Saturn setting in the west. Saturn's thin rings are almost edge on and we won't be able to see them again in this orientation until 2039.
Our astronomy club members will have several telescopes set up for viewing. You are welcome to bring along your own telescope or binoculars if you like. There is plenty of room to enjoy an evening under the stars.
