Humanity's First Visit to a Star - Parker Solar Probe

The main program will feature a NSN Webinar with Dr. Nicola Fox - newly appointed NASA director of Heliophysics.

Dr. Fox's presentation will explain in detail the Parker Solar Probe launched Aug 12 on a 7 year mission to study the Sun close up. How Close Will it be? It will actually fly through the sun's corona within 5 solar diameters of its blazing hot surface! Launched Aug 12 the Parker Solar Probe made its first flyby of Venus Oct 3 putting it on course for its first loop inside the orbit of Mercury at 0.34 AU on Nov 1.
We got word that there is a Jenks HOME Game at 7:30 Friday
Our doors will open at 6:15 if you want to come early to avoid the parking rush


This indoor, public event is held each month to discuss past, present, and future club events and activities as well as Astronomy news.

After the meeting, we all go to eat at one of Jenks great restaurants. It's always a great time- my favorite part!

Location

The Jenks Planetarium is located at 105 East B St.
That's just west of the Jenks football stadium.
The Planetarium is on the third floor of the Math and Science building.
